What Is a Side-Hinged Garage Door?

A side-hinged door has two leaves hung on hinges either side of the opening. You can have an even 50/50 split, with the join in the centre of the doorway, or a 2/3 to 1/3 split, handed left or right in most styles and designs. With no overhead tracks or mechanism, there are fewer moving parts to maintain.

Sizes run from 5ft 9in to 10ft wide and from 6ft to 7ft 6in high, depending on the style.
